Donna Giordano was a personal trainer/fitness instructor for over 20 years. She worked closely with clients who had come from physical therapy with various medical conditions and were allowed to resume physical activities. This is where Donna’s love for PTA was born. She took on the challenge to create physical fitness plans that aligned with the doctor’s orders. Donna loved this aspect of her job so much; she decided to further her education by attending the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology. Donna willgraduate from P.I.T’s Physical Therapy Assistant program in August 2015 with a 3.47 GPA. She credits her success to her wonderful family and friends for their continued love and support. “I believe the biggest adjustment to attending school full time was balancing my time with work, studying, and taking care of my family. It was a huge commitment but with the help of my support system, I managed to get through it and I am still standing,” Donna said. Donna’s main goal, both professionally and personally, is to help people live a more productive and healthy lifestyle. She is eager to put her educational skills to good use and continue to learn new trends in the field through professional development opportunities. Donna plans to mentor upcoming PTA students and volunteer her time both at school and with the local Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association chapter.
